ANDREA AND MARTIN
We
moved to Cheddar from Purley in Surrey in 2001, having watched far
too many editions of TV programmes such as "Living The Dream", "No
Going Back" and "Escape to the Country"! But we still
love to meet people from the Croydon area and find out how things
are
going
back
in "the
smoke".
We offer a friendly, non-smoking, family
home, with cosy bedrooms, set well back
from the main gorge road in a quiet location. Breakfast is served
in our conservatory where you can look out over the front lawn
and shrubbery. If you have children, our
kids (Stephen, b.1998 and Tamsin b.2000) will doubtless be keen
to entertain them.
Having
been an IT consultant when in the London area, Martin is
now a web designer, creating
and managing web sites for many local small businesses. When not
designing web sites or doing various DIY jobs around the house,
Martin can be found watching Formula
1 Grands Prix - claiming
never
to have
missed one on TV since James Hunt's championship win in 1976 - as well
as tuning in to most Indy
Racing League and A1GP races. Hence
the Scalextric
track that has sprung up, the upkeep of which also
keeps him busy! He is also a member of the NSCC,
spends time
playing computer games such as Guild
Wars and Live for Speed, maintains a virtual football team
in Hattrick,
and everyone in the family now plays a Toon in Disney's Toontown
Online.
Originally from West Ham, of Cotswold descent, Martin is a former
student of the Open University.
Andrea is a former south London secondary-school
Chemistry teacher - turned hypnotherapist
- turned
B&B proprietor, with an interest in reading, Sudoku, crosswords,
spirituality, the paranormal and also archaeology, so can often be
found watching TV programmes like "Most
Haunted" and "Time
Team", and attending some of the many related local events
such as the Healing
Festival. She also does yoga regularly, is the local Beaver leader,
and has recently returned to teaching post-16 science at Bridgwater
College. Born in Eastleigh in Hampshire but spent most of her
childhood in Banffshire, Scotland, and went to Stirling and Newcastle Universities.
Andrea also does much of the gardening and we both like to get out
for walks whenever we can, as
well
as taking the
kids to the many places of interest in the area. We're sure we'll
never manage to see everything!
We hope you enjoy your visit to our
web site and we hope to see you in person soon!
Best wishes... Andrea and Martin
